When thinking of robots, we generally envision them taking over tasks that humans consider tedious, such as repetitive, physically demanding, or just hazardous tasks. The automation during Industry 3.0 sought to eliminate human error from production by eliminating the human. It resulted in non-flexible systems that would only award the production of large volumes. Industry 5.0, on the other hand, enables truly flexible automation by centering the manufacturing process around humans. Thus benefitting from the concept of human-robot collaboration.
This nugget introduces the concept of Industry 5.0 and how technology is expected to improve the worker experience.
