A stakeholder is an individual or organization interested in and/or influencing your or your organization’s ability to pursue your goals. When starting to network, it is helpful to map your stakeholders according to their influence and interest to know how to approach them or what to expect. Stakeholders with high interest and impact are your partners, while stakeholders with low interest and influence should be kept informed. Co-creation is an effective way of making a joint action plan for the network with your stakeholders based on dialogue and discussion. When co-creating an action plan, it is crucial to first focus on the interests of each stakeholder before hearing their proposed solution to avoid getting stuck in differences of opinion. There are several principles and guiding questions that you can follow to facilitate a network meeting in the fashion of co-creation. One option is to focus on three horizons:

What would the situation be like in the future if we do nothing today?

What would be the ideal situation for us in the future?

What are the most important steps to our desired future?
