Feature extraction and selection in machining process – Part 2: How to select relevant Features from data?

This lesson
presents a list of the most important methods of feature selection with their
description and some examples. The list is not complete because new methods are
constantly developed and also because some methods are too complex to include
them in this lesson. The lesson also provides reasons for feature selection,
its importance and the amount of time and attention that must be paid to it. The
main categories of feature selection methods mentioned here are filter methods,
wrapper methods, embedded methods and expert (domain related) knowledge.
