Entrepreneurship is usually associated with the creation of new
companies, but this term is used also to refer to an important function within
existing companies. Corporate entrepreneurship is the development of new
businesses within the corporation and it’s essential as drive companies towards
new opportunities for growth and development.
There is a confrontation in entrepreneurial companies between the formal
structures of organizations and the informality and intuition required by
intrapreneurship activity. This produces what is called the paradoxes in entrepreneurial
organizations. Managing these paradoxes is very important to be successful.The “ambidextrous
company” is described as a company capable of managing day-to-day
operations (exploitation of the traditional business) and innovation
(exploration of new opportunities) with equal efficiency.
