Self-management is taking responsibility for behaviour, health, and happiness and dealing with medical conditions independently. In psychological terms, it involves managing thoughts, regulating emotions, and being accountable for behaviours, also known as self-regulation. Self-management skills are categorized into cognitive, affective, and behavioural skills. Cognitive skills include decision-making, self-motivation, and personnel development; affective skills involve managing emotions, stress, and intrinsic self-motivation; and behavioural skills encompass time management, workplace/space management, and personnel role management. These skills enhance awareness, realization, and maintenance of personal goals.
