This lesson has been developed as part of the ‘Manufacturing a Healthy Future’ programme, which focuses on strengthening the engagement of primary schools with STEM and manufacturing. The programme utilises 3D printing as an exemplar technology to promote the exciting career opportunities in manufacturing, while also focusing on sustainability and diversity in STEM.

In the previous lessons of this course, we have shown you the basics of using the Prusa Slicer software – a commonly used and free-to-download software for 3D printing slicing. However, as you continue your journey in 3D printing, you will discover that there are several other slicing software platforms which you can use to slice your 3D models – and which one you decide to use could depend on your personal preferences.

In this lesson, we will highlight two other commonly used slicing software platforms which you may want to try using in your 3D printing activities (both of which work similarly to Prusa Slicer):

  • Ultimaker Cura
  • Bambu Studio

This lesson is designed for beginners and those just starting their 3D printing journey – but may also prove a useful refresher for more experienced users.

If you are interested, you can download these two slicing software programs using the links below:
