SUMMARY
Production Module is a software which reproduces milling operations in a virtual environment by representing the tool displacement around the raw stock material. The intersected geometry from the raw stock material with the tool represents the uncut chip geometry and it is removed. Based on the removed volume, it also estimates the cutting forces, power, and temperatures among other performance variables. This operation analysis facilitates the identification of specific instances of high or low tool load. Therefore, based on determined key productivity indicators some feed corrections could be suggested to improve the performance of the milling operation close to a 20%.

About The Authors
The authors Pedro Arrazola, Harry Otalora and Gorka Ortiz de Zarate have extensive knowledge on process planning, with more than 15 years of experience. In addition, they have worked closely with industry in Spain (Fagor Ederlan, Zubiola etc.), Germany, etc. to assist them in process planning issues, including thesis of the research group that have been developed in this topic.
