The environmental context and the digital transformation of businesses and services have changed customer expectations in many sectors. The furniture industry is particularly affected, as consumers want to buy highly customised and sustainable furniture that is produced locally. This requires a change in the practices of furniture manufacturers and a strong collaboration between consumers, designers and producers. In addition, the development of do-it-yourself movements and the creation of fablabs and micro-factories accessible to the general public reinforce the need for collaboration between and professionals, as furniture design is not accessible to everyone.
This nugget introduces the Do it Together approach, the concepts and requirements behind it, and explain the main functions that are expected to implement such a process.
