This nugget explores the concept of Supply Chain Optimization Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their relationship with Digital Twins in the context of modern Supply Chain operations. Firstly, the concept of Digital Twins is presented, highlighting the relevant data flows between digital and physical environments. Secondly, Supply Chain Optimization KPIs are introduced, with their role of measurable indicators of the economic performance of Supply Chain activities and processes, such as perfect order fulfillment and supply chain costs as revenue percent. The possibility to link such KPIs to relevant Supply Chain optimization (decision) variables is presented, integrating data from sensors, equipment, and other physical sources through Digital Twins. The logical steps to align Supply Chain Optimization KPIs with real-time monitoring, analysis, and optimization of Supply Chain optimization variables are introduced. Lastly, the potentialities and limitations of the application of Digital Twins to Supply Chain Optimization are illustrated.
