In other nuggets we have defined the characteristics of agile teams. This requires the team members to have certain skills. Teams cannot achieve their goals if team members aren’t capable enough. To combat this, managers must create an environment of continuous learning, thus contributing to the development of competence. The members of an agile team have more freedom to make decisions, but also more responsibility, jointly and mutually, for the outcome of the project or product. It is necessary to understand one of the main characteristics that makes an agile team highly productive: “team empowerment”. This requires the agile team leader to think and act as a facilitator, a leader at the service of the team, a person who, in addition to understanding the basis on which things work, must have interpersonal skills, both with the client and with the team.
