The nugget covers the impact analysis phase for an LCA, more simply referred to as Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA). This phase addresses the concepts ofenvironmental mechanism, selection of impact categories and categories indicators and characterization models.
Learning outcomes
- The user will learn the objectives of LCIA and the steps needed to prepare this phase of LCA
- The user will learn the concept of the environmental mechanism needed to understand how LCA can pass from inventory data to the impact ones
- The user will learn how to select impact categories and categories indicators and how to perform the classification of the LCI data and the characterization phase that allow the calculation of the environmental indicators
