An appropriate part design is of crucial importance for the additive manufacturing process. The part design coupled with the processing parameters determines the quality, productivity, and sustainability of the final product. This nugget, being third in the series of three nuggets for the applied design of multi-materials, aims to impart an in-depth understanding to the learner of different software solutions and how they interact to provide the most adequate result for given specifications.

- Identify and relate the different available methods for AM simulation
- Recognize and demonstrate the appropriate homogeneous scheme(s) for multi-material simulation to achieve desired part characteristics
