We aim to help teachers of primary school pupils to get started with 3D printing in the classroom.

If possible, we strongly recommend at least one half-day of in-person training to really get to grips with printing, but this nugget will identify tips for successful 3D printing – focusing on the slicing element.

After this learning nugget, you will understand what slicing is and when to do it, and know how to optimise your design for print. You will also have learned how to slice and what software to use.

Learning outcomes

  1. In this learning nugget, learn what slicing it, why it's an essential part of the 3D printing process, and find out how and when to do it. Also, get tips on how to optimise your design for print.
