This course provides a comprehensive introduction to collecting, managing, and visualizing telemetry data in IoT (Internet of Things) applications. Participants will explore core IoT technologies, understand the MQTT (Message Queue Telemetry Transport) protocol for lightweight communication, and learn how to use NoSQL (not only Structured Query Language) Time Series Databases for handling large volumes of time-stamped data efficiently.
Through engaging modules, students will delve into essential data visualization techniques, culminating in the practical application of Grafana for creating dynamic, real-time dashboards tailored for IoT use cases.
Each chapter is followed by quizzes to reinforce learning, and the course concludes with a final quiz to assess overall understanding.

Learning outcomes
- By the end of this course, learners will be able to accurately explain at least three key characteristics, two advantages, and two limitations of cellular-based IoT protocols (e.g., LTE-M, NB-IoT) in a written or verbal assessment.
- By the end of this course, learners will be able to create a comparative table or presentation that highlights at least three differences and two similarities between cellular IoT protocols (e.g., LTE, NB-IoT) and LPWAN protocols (e.g., LoRaWAN, Sigfox), demonstrating their understanding through a structured comparison.
- By the end of the training, learners will be able to analyze a given IoT application scenario and justify their selection of the most appropriate communication protocol (e.g., NB-IoT, LoRaWAN, Sigfox) based on at least three technical and business-related criteria, achieving a success rate of 80% in a case-study-based assessment.
