SUMMARY
This lesson will give a brief introduction to the milling process, explaining its main components. In addition, considering the kinematic complexity of the process, we will go deeper into the movements that take place by discretising the cutting and feed movements. The concept of the degree of freedom and its influence on the movements involved in milling is also explained.

About The Authors
The authors Pedro Arrazola, Harry Otalora and Gorka Ortiz de Zarate have extensive knowledge on process planning, with more than 15 years of experience. In addition, they have worked closely with industry in Spain (Fagor Ederlan, Zubiola etc.), Germany, etc. to assist them in process planning issues, including thesis of the research group that have been developed in this topic.
