This nugget provides the learner with basic knowledge about the printing of a 4D mechanism through the material extrusion technique. Starting with the overview of the AM workflow, a comprehensive overview of the SMP physical mechanisms and cycle is presented, enabling the learner to understand the basic design principles of 4D printing.
