This course explores the two aspects of digital twins and cybersecurity, explaining from one side the cyber risks associated to the use of a digital twin in manufacturing and the cybersecurity best practices to integrate digital twin (DT) technology successfully. On the other side it consider the possibility to exploit digital twins for cybersecurity tasks. As a virtual replica of the physical system, it can be used to monitor and analyze the system in order to identify Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), possible attack patterns, anomalies and indicators of compromise.
