In this learning path, we explain the most important steps for complying with the AI Regulation when introducing AI into the company.
First, the risk-based regulatory framework for artificial intelligence systems, categorizing them into unacceptable, high, limited, and minimal risk levels. Unacceptable-risk AI, such as government-run social scoring and manipulative AI, is prohibited, while high-risk AI used in areas such as critical infrastructure, education, employment, and law enforcement is subject to strict obligations regarding transparency, accountability, human oversight, and data quality. Most AI systems are considered minimal risk and have fewer to no obligations.
Second, we outline the required steps for various AI applications for different provisions, with the goal of promoting trustworthy AI, protecting fundamental rights, and fostering innovation, while potentially setting a global standard for AI governance.
