NEONATAL uses simulated Virtual Reality training to equip healthcare workers with life-saving neonatal resuscitation skills and improved confidence. The course gives users an introduction to the NEONATAL training approach of situated, just-in-time VR training to strengthen healthcare workers’ neonatal resuscitation skills.
About the authors
- Stine Lund, Senior Consultant, Rigshospitalet. Stine is a neonatologist and a clinical associate professor with unique expertise in global health, pediatric infectious diseases, development, and research in educational digital applications, as well as research and capacity building in Denmark and low- and middle-income countries. She is part of the steering committee of the Global Health Unit. She is also the founder and co-developer of the Safe Delivery App. Dr Stine Lund has supervised several PhD, master and medical students on medical education, capacity building and digital solutions, including using VR in neonatal resuscitation.
- Anja Poulsen, Senior Consultant PhD, Rigshospitalet, Anja is a paediatrician with a subspecialisation in paediatric infectious diseases and a particular interest in global health and education. She is Head of the Global Health Unit and head of postgraduate trainees in paediatrics at the Department for Children and Adolescents, Juliane Marie Centre, Rigshospitalet, The University Hospital of Copenhagen, Denmark. Dr. Poulsen has supervised several bachelor’s and master’s projects and PhD students, including students doing research in medical education. Currently, she is supervising a PhD student about VR in paediatric emergency training at Rigshospitalet and a master’s student studying VR implementation in Tanzania.
- Hanna Rahimi, Medical Doctor, Rigshospitalet, Hanna Rahimi is a medical doctor, specialising in paediatrics in Denmark. She is interested in global health and capacity building in Denmark and low- and middle-income countries (LMICS) and has experience in humanitarian work and education (including neonatal resuscitation training) of healthcare workers in LMICS through several employments with Doctors Without Borders. She is a researcher at the Global Health Unit and has previously conducted a feasibility study in Pemba Island, Tanzania, for an RCT study about C-reactive protein use in childhood infections.
- Kira Lund, Project Manager Khora. Kira has an educational and professional background in film and event production and loves exploring innovative ways of audiovisual storytelling and immersing the viewer in creative ways.
