The Learning Path “Node-RED Advanced Dashboard Solutions” focusses on furthering knowledge of Node-RED’s capabilities for building interactive IoT dashboards. Some often “hidden” functionalities will be explored, like dynamic properties set via mustache formatting and enabling and disabling interactive objects. These will be applied in alternating between visualizing real-time data and historical data in the same viewing areas. A method of exporting data to and from a simplified database and downloading it via a dashboard will also be explained. Furthermore, a real-life use case of these and other Node-RED functionalities in a medium-scale industrial application will be presented. All of these will be presented in tutorial format, so that learners can test and alter these features at will.
This learning path is recommended for learners who have completed the previous learning path in this Node-RED series, “Node-RED as a Local IIoT Platform for Machine Interoperability”, or for users already familiar with Node-RED. Basic knowledge of JavaScript and SQL is beneficial, but not necessary.
Learning outcomes
- After this learning path, the learner will be able to use implicit functionalities of dashboard objects, even if these are not documented.
- After this learning path, the learner will be able to use the previous functionalities to set up live vs. historical views and make historical data available for download.
- After this learning path, the learner will be able to recognize how all of the content covered here can be used in real-life, medium to large-scale applications.
